Azurel vs Damion/Lews Therin - one of us will win

Rayne uses a fire spell that would burn a small town to the ground. After the smoke clears, Rayne sees a big, stuffed, toy salmon lying untouched in a ring of charred earth. He walks up to the fish and notices the tag.

"Fire resistant material"

Rayne stares at the fish in a blank stare wondering if he should deal with it now or go and get some food.

[Therin]

Finally getting his messed up morphic field under control, Damion reverts to his normal form, aka Damion. Immediately, he launches a flurry of attacks at Rayne, slashes, stabs, parries, too quick to count...until he realizes that Rayne is standing ten feet away...hmmm...apparently, being turned into a toy salmon is detrimental to one's vision...dammit...

Rayne is kind of dazed from the amazing attack that was so fast and so...far away? Rayne starts to form a circle of black energy. Rayne raises it above his head, it starts to spin at incredible speed. He launches it at Damion, as it is flying and spinning, it starts to rotate. It hovers over Damion, drops and starts to shrink, squeezing him tightly.

[Therin]

...hard...to breathe . . . getting dark . . .
GET OUT OF MY WAY, FOOL, thinks Lews Therin as he mentally shoves Damion out of the way. Channelling his energy into the constricting ring of dark light, Lews Therin tries with all his might to free his arms. The ring...ripples...then, changing color, it begins to glow a noble, golden hue...brighter...brighter...with a deafening roar, it bursts outward, sending shards of magical energy in a blazing ring away from Lews Therin, flattening trees, shrubs, and boulders alike as it expands. Lews Therin stands there, panting, in the middle of the devastation. Surely it will kill a human being caught in the blast, but just in case, Lews Therin prepares another attack, thrusting his arms out like so: }===

A shockwave of pure, formless, chaotic energy ripples out from his extended hands as cracks race along the ground toward Rayne...

Thinking that this will do nothing to his shield, Rayne stands there without the slightest bit of cowardness. Rayne jumps to avoid the ring of energy. He sees all the trees falling down around him. As he lands he notices a big formless energy coming at him. Again he is not scared by this. The cracks on the ground reach him first, and as they get underneath him, the ground shakes as a pillar of fire is raised with him inside. His shield is keeping this from hurting him. Then he realizes that the energy has yet to hit him. He cannot see from inside the pillar, he waits for the energy. As the chaotic energy blast hits his shield, Rayne notices a hairline crack in his shield. The crack begins to grow until the front of his shield is covered in a web of cracks. He hears a creak, and in an instant his shield breaks and shatters into a thousand peices that disappear after they hit the ground. Rayne's shield breaks about a milisecond after the wave of energy passed, leaving Rayne all but damaged. Rayne jumps forward so he is not left in the fire, his right hand is burnt. As he is staring at Damion, hair being singed by the pillar of fire behind him, Rayne notices a new aura of enegy around Damion. Rayne recognizes this energy and calls out,

"Lews Therin"

[Therin]

"That's right, fool" says Lews Therin with a laugh, "and if you remember me, you'll remember how I used to to THIS!!!"
Emphasizing the last word, Lews Therin sweeps a bar of Balefire toward Rayne's middle. Balefire, invented by Lews Therin when he was still alive, was the terror and secret weapon of the Highlands coalition, the weapon that burned things not just out of existence, but completely out of the space-time continuum, making it as though they had never existed at all. Lews Therin was the only mage known to be able to actually pull the spell off because it required so much power...

[Azurel]

Rayne is kind of shocked that Lews Therin actually was there to answer. Rayne knows that none of his spells could possibly block this next attack. Rayne conjurs up an energy ball and throws it at the immense attack. The Balefire swallows up the energy ball like it was nothing, but slowing it down enough to allow Rayne to dodge the attack. Parts of Raynes clothes start to de-materialize and disintegrate as the Balefire goes by.

"It really is you. Well I've gotten better than the last time we fought."

Rayne puts his hand to the ground, palm up. His hand begins to glow black, as black as the void from which he gets his powers. He raises his hand in a powerfully swift movement. A dark, vertical cresent wave, skimming the ground as it moves, is launched at Lews.

[Therin]

Damion steps to the side, trips on...well...the ground...and falls over into a tree...the Crescent wave hits him about two thirds of the way down his left leg, is lessened by Lews Therins backup shield, cuts his leg, and goes on blursting trees and the like...Damion says "ow...ow" and then says "ow" some more...

Rayne runs his hand, still resonating with the dark energy from his last attack, through the hair that is infront of his face and throws it back. Watching Lews fall and get cut, Rayne trys to stay serious, but ends up laughing so hard that it almost hurts.

[Therin]

"STOP LAUGHING AT MEEEEEEEE.....!!!!!!!" cries Damion as he launches himself at Rayne, scythesword poised above his head for a killing blow...
