WAI! WAI! WII! O namae wa suki desu! Kawaii!
okay, sorry about that.. when i hear Wii i think of the japanese exclamation of "Wai!" with is something kids say or adults say to seem cute. i really have no opinion of the name. it sounds a little funny but i'll be curious to hear the funny puns that aren't intended. ^^
i can't wait to get one! |

I dont like it, but I dont care. They could call it the Crap Blaster 973 for all I care, all I know is that this will be the first system since the Dreamcast (sigh) that I actually give a shit enough to preorder. |

Im all for them breaking the conventional naming rules of console systems, after all "Revolution" sounds like a consol, but "Wii" it really different, its really out there, you know.
However...SOMEONE had to think this name was too close to "wee wee", a popular childs term for your blaster master down there, and apparently nintendo thought it would be funny to go ahead and release it anyway. I think "Wii", whil cute, is a weak name. i think "Wo" or "Wow" or something like that coudl have conveied the same idea with out sounding like I need to go take a leak.
Faux paux nintendo. Im still buying it though, I might even spring on this before my PS3. |

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee, they named it wii, but the question is will we buy it? Eeep I need to go got ta wee. *runs off to toilet*
I think the name will go down well in Japan, but nintendo's main problems have been outside Japan and a more conventional console name might have been better.
Still remains to be seen how it sells, and i'll be buying one regardless. |
