Reverend vs. Demonic - It's been coming

-Demonic is being slowly worn down by the powerful Airius. It is beyond him how this monstrosity of a man still stands, much less put up such a strong fight! Demonic is pushed back close to the arena wall; closer than he would like.-

Airius feels it, he's reached a point where it's all he can do to keep breathing. He's got just enough strength left to bring one blow down on Demonic. With all he can muster, Reverend whips around Ruler with an aim right at Demonic's ribs...

-Demonic is slapped across the arena like a ragdoll. He crashes into one of the walls of the arena, and his breath comes out ragged.-

Airius falls, his body hitting the ground with a dull thud. He's absolutlely spent, in body and in soul. "Sakura-chan, forgive me. I wasn't strong enough to save you..." Reverend closes his eye and slips into blackness

-Demonic holds his ribs tightly and begins to stand... he stumbles then falls, and has to use the arena wall as support to stay up.-

"Reverend...?"

-Demonic looks at the holy man, awaiting a response from him... if Rev is capable of delivering one.-

"...has Random conquered?"

-Demonic rubs his head, pain blurring his vision.-

"I... suppose I must--"

-Demonic pauses his sentence to cough.-

"I suppose... I must claim... victory!"

-The followers of Random stand and cheer loudly. Demonic holds up Bloodreign and a soul from within the sword heals him... Demonic then walks over to Rev and gives him back all the essence that he took during the fight, and gives him a long bow.-

"You fought honorably, O Massive one! But I am afraid that Random has won this day, for now! Perhaps someday the schools will clash again, but for now, we must be content with what victories we have!"

-Demonic rises from his bow.-

"Until we meet again!"

-The School of Random Post-Fu files out of the arena.-

Reverend is left to ponder his future in a now empty arena. "I have failed to beat a member of the rival school of Post Fu, his power was formidable. Now though, I have a focus. I have a reason to continue my training, and learn to wholly control the powers at my disposal. Perhaps the answers will lie within the wilderness where I can heal and meditate what will become of me....

(Note, I did this as a lead in to Journeys of a Samurai as to explain Airius's motivation for being out in the forest anyway)
