I can't say this thrills me since I've never been a fan of the series but it is a no brainer for Namco. Racing games are always the top show offs for a new system's graphics. Tho can anyone explain why no matter how powerful the hardware they always contain jaggies and poly breakups?

I look it and all I think of is the intro to Ridge Racer PSP. Then I think of the broken physics engine. |

I'm not as excited about this news as I would have been a couple of years ago. I kind of liked Ridge Racers on PSP, and I was a little disappointed that RR6 was almost an extended port of the PSP version. And Namco was charging to download classic Ridge Racer remixed music for the 360 version? No thanks..
R4 was my absolute favorite in the series, and I think they've been going downhill ever since. If they were remaking R4 I'd be there on launch day, but if it's another RR6-type game, I doubt I'll be interested. |

R4 comes in second for me. The PSP version is my fav right now.
I'm not suprised they didn't put much effort into the 360 one. I assume they would work a little harder on the PS3 one if it really is a new game and not just a revamp of 6.
I guess we'll see. I love the series so I will probably get it. |

I've been a faithful fan of the series since the launch of the PSX, and I actually still own all of them on PSX and PS2. I just traded in part 6 because it seemed to be a half-assed port. R:Racing Evolution was an interesting side-story, but Namco needs to get serious and make an all new RR game from the ground up. I'll wait for the review I think. |

The first game on PS3 is.. a SEQUAL! SUPRISE!
Hahaha.. I kid. Ridge Racer is a well known and liked series, so it's a good idea to use it to get people wanting to buy the new consol. Is it a 'good' follow up to the series though? Will the PS3 show off the graphics and forget about the game play? Wooooo o.o I haven't a clue, I haven't been keeping up with reviews  |

No racing game has held my interest past the intro. And the only game to hold my intrest for the intro was GT 4 or whatever...The one that opened with "Panama."
Burnout is NOT a racing game, it's an ACTION game.  |
